Our classes are a safe space, and we understand dancing and going out of your comfort zone can be nerve wracking. Therefore, we will not film or allow filming during the class without asking for explicit consent; if you consent to filming for one class, there is no obligation to do so again!! These classes are a light fun time, and for an escape from hectic uni life, so we want everyone as comfortable as possible ♡
ABOUT US
hello! we are a newly formed society which aims to bring together people who enjoy any aspect of k-pop or k-media. To learn more about our dance team icarus, or the classes we hold, please press the respective links on the home page!
Alongside what our dance team does, we hold events for all members of the society (you don’t need to be on the dance team to be a member!) and for non-members who just want to come to the occasional hangout; this year we aim to hold a variety of events themed around dance, variety, and tv. These will include things like running man nights, random play dance, k-pop quiz and game nights, k-drama viewings, etc!!! If you have any ideas for what you would want us to put on, or would like to collaborate with us on an event, please reach out to us!

ICARUS
icarus is the official dance team of imperial k-pop society. we upload covers of various k-pop songs, attend k-pop dance competitions to represent imperial college, and teach dance classes.
if you are interested in joining the team, auditions are held at the beginning of each term. details on how to audition are posted closer to the time, so follow our instagram for updates!!
our youtube channel can be found by clicking on the link below. we did not have many opportunities to film covers last year, but please be patient ^.^ we will begin to upload more regularly this year, as we are now an official society!
CLASSES
NOTE: Due to the ongoing pandemic, we will be running classes online through the entirety of the 2020-21 academic year
We teach classes once a week on the key points of popular or new k-pop songs. These are held every Wednesday from 1-2pm, over a specified teams link sent to you before the class takes place. Make sure to purchase a class pack before signing up for a class, as sign ups are considered as attendance.
If there is a particular song you want to learn, feel free to request it!! we will do our best to help you guys learn the dances you want, and build more confidence in your skills.
